Pressing guide
How to press your DTF prints. Updated 28 Sep 2026.
These settings are a good start. Every heat press is a little different, so always test on a spare garment first.
Temperature and time
| Garment | Heat | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Thin T-shirts (cotton, polyester) | 165 °C | 5 seconds |
| Hoodies and sweatshirts | 180 °C | 5 seconds |
Pressure: medium-firm, for every garment.
Step by step
- Heat the press to the temperature in the table.
- Lay the print on the garment, printed side down.
- Press for 5 seconds with medium-firm pressure.
- Let it cool fully. Then peel the film off slowly (cold peel).
- Put a Teflon sheet or baking paper on top and press again for 5 seconds.
Test first
Always test on a spare garment first, before you press a full batch.
Washing
- Wash inside out, below 40 °C.
- No bleach.
- Do not tumble-dry hot.
- Never iron directly on the print.
